Abu Dhabi, Grand Prix and Yasalam Festival

It's not often that you get to go to a festival and over those days, you get to see see Kanye West, Kelis, Linkin Park, Prince and then watch the final F1 Grand Prix of the season from the Ferrari yacht - and have a chauffeur on call 24/7. Such was the case at Yasalam Festival this year, held on Yas Island and at the Corniche in Abu Dhabi.

We rocked a heavy disco set on Friday night at the Corniche beach stage where we played with Fabolous and Lebanese Super star (and I mean SUPER star in the Middle East) Haifaa, after which we were whisked off to Prince playing a secret gig at the Skybar. He was supposed to play for 20 mins but ended up doing 90 mins!!! The man as we all know is a legend! Then the after-after party was at Cipriani's playing banging techno with old yachting types and young modelly types. Fanny fanny fanny must be fanny in a rich man's world. There you have it. Awesome.

Satuday was a short set at the Skybar followed by Flo-Rida. Yes the Low Low Low Low guy, followed by more afterparties etc.

Sunday, yes, watching the Grand Prix from the Ferrari yacht and then watching PRINCE and then more after parties.....

Thanks to our driver Prince Sharjan of Bengal for driving us, sometimes at over-capacity, around Abu Dhabi and the legend that is Keith Howison of Flash for looking after us!!!! Hellooooo thereeeee and assalamu alaikum.

Damien Dempsey's Dublin

Shows in Dublin are always great because the Dubliners are always up for the party. The 2 gigs this weekend at Dandelion and Button Factory, both great little venues, were no exception - thanks to Jamie and Chris for looking after us!!

While we were there, we checked out an exhibition of Dublin folk musician Damien Dempsey (Damo) and visual artist Maser called "They Are Us". Located in a warehouse above a chinese grocer's, Maser pays homage to the sign-writing heritage of Dublin through the lyrics of Damo. His angle is spreading positive messages through street art, as his works usually feature on many walls and street corners in the city. Throughout, you feel his love for the city and his pride to be part of it, which he hopes fellow Dubliners will share.

Asia Tour - Jakarta, Bali, Hong Kong

It is always a pleasure to play in Asia and pleasantly surprised that music really has no boundaries and people love to party wherever you are in the world. Also thanks to people such as Yudha who hosted us at the Playground festival now in its 5th year, the music lovers of Jakarta have been well-informed with good music. In fact we played at the first Playground festival back in 2006!

Enough reminiscing!!! The party, despite the rain was off the scale. The punters were not put off and partied til the early hours. We did our thing and due to the humidity which made the stage too slippery to dance on, we took it to the floor in true oldschool fashion where some sexy girl did a routine with us (correct) and some dude just kept on wanting to battle Archerio (not correct). Let him do his thing! DICK!

Afterwards we partied on in Kampus then Stadium. This is the club where you can party non-stop from Thursday night til Monday morning NON-STOP if you so wish it. There's a place for food, even rooms for sleeping in if you get a bit partied out (or wanting to do naughty things). Alas we had to leave at 11am as we had a flight to catch at 13:30.....

The LOOT

Thanks also to DJ Leno for hooking me up with some excellent Sate Ayam, gado-gado and the best record shopping at Jalan Surabaya.

sate ayam and some amazing soup!

Bali is probably my favourite place in the world. Relax yes, surf yes, party yes, food yes, cheapness yes, nature yes, nice people yes!!!

The gig at Mbargo was again a lot of fun with the local Bboy crew coming down to rep with us. Enough respect!!!! Thanks to Justin and Natalie at Mbargo and Naren repping from KL.

Given it at MBargo

HK never ceases to surprise me at how cheap everything is. It was a food fest every single day! Big up to the shrimp wonton noodle dude across the road from the hotel serving the best noodles in town. Also, if anyone is still arsed enough to be looking for Cazals or Neostyles, head for HK because there's still plenty knocking around lying around from the 80s. Obviously I picked up the best of the bunch.....
